Robert H. Johnson

Robert H. Johnson founded the firm in 1981 after a distinguished career that began in a Wall Street litigation firm. In addition to his 35 years of private practice in Sacramento, he has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, a Senior Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division and (where he was presented with a Special Achievement Award by the Justice Department), and as an Administrative Assistant to the Majority Leader of the California State Assembly. He has been rated "a.v." by Martindale-Hubbell for many years.  He is also listed in Super Lawyers (Northern California).

 

Bob focuses on employment law, errors and omissions defense, public-entity defense, products liability, and complex personal injury & business litigation. Bob received a B.A. with distinction from the University of Redlands in 1964. He attended New York University Law School as one of two Root-Tilden scholars chosen from the ten states of the Ninth Circuit. He received his J.D. from NYU in 1967, where he won the three-year, eight-round moot court competition. During college and law school he worked for The Wall Street Journal and the AP-Dow Jones Economic Report.

 

Bob is a member of the bar in both California and New York, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Second Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He has also tried cases or appeared before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District of Alabama, the District of Nevada, the District of Kansas, the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has served as a pro-tem settlement conference judge in Sacramento and Placer counties, a judicial arbitrator, and a private mediator. He has been an adjunct professor at McGeorge Law School, has written and lectured on practice management and client service for the Practicing Law Institute, and has been active in community service. Bob is also a member of Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court and a Charter Fellow, Litigation Counsel of America.
