ALESA SCHACHTER

Alesa Schachter is a cum laude graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles in 1978, and received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis, School of Law in 1981. After practicing for a year with a litigation firm in Glasgow, Scotland, she joined this firm, where she has concentrated on employment and personnel law, education law, public-entity and self-insured defense, disability access and personal injury/premises liability. In addition, she has worked with the legal staffs of the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the State Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

 

Alesa has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and listed in Super Lawyers (Northern California).  She is also a Fellow in Litigation Counsel of America.

 

Alesa represents a number of Community College Districts and K-12 Districts throughout Northern California. She represents both public and private sector entities (including large retailers) in litigation, employment, personnel matters, ADA accessibility issues, premises liability and personal injury matters. She has conducted numerous employment and management training seminars and investigations including sexual harassment and discrimination and is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators.

 

Alesa is admitted to the bars of California, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the California Council of School Attorneys, National Association of College and University Attorneys, the California State Bar Labor and Employment Section, the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California, and is a court-approved arbitrator in Sacramento County.
